Personally if money wasn't a problem I'd rather use BOX.net While I love Google drive, it gets really inconsistent when you have the same account logged in multiple times across devices (excluding tablets and phones), by default HTTP access seems to be better (more efficient it appears) but not easier for my user to grasp. Make a second back up from the central system so that I can fulfill the N+1 back up (external hdd).Make a back up of those files from this central system (internal hdd).Take laptop/desktop default folders, capture and transport data from them to another system (securely).
Don't get more wrong, I like Google Drive etc, but with what I'm trying to implement, basically a way to do shares and folder redirection (so that back up will be easier) I think it would fit the bill. It essence I see it as a tool to get the job done and still be secure since it isn't a public cloud. Guys I'm going to goof off with it some more - I think it is a viable solution vs going public with the use of Google etc, with some forms of data. I would do that personally with my personal data, but I am not sure I would set this up for my customers. It works, syncs fine till you throw an error. Once you have one account on multiple computers it gets buggy. I've been trying to replicate this with Google Drive at work but it just doesn't scale. I think 2 - 1 TB HDD's in the mix with CrashPlan would be pretty solid for SOHO. Seems like a good way to leverage Non-Cloud but accessible private storage and back it up at the same time for low cost.

That way you could then use maybe the free Crash Plan to backup the folder to a external USB. However, I only want it one way (at least right now). That way when the files change, the sync is sent to another computer (or NAS) with gobbs of storage.

An example of what I'm suggesting to do is take a laptop, replace the Desktop, My Documents, Videos, Photos and Music and maybe Downloads folder and redirect them to a hierarchy sync folder for Bit Torrent with the Computer or Client name first followed by sub directories for the above folders.
